Plan

Plan

Set a time frame and work plan for all work to be done. Do what? By When?

All of my work will be doen by the 26th of may which is the official deadline, by then I have 5 working periods of which only a partial time of today will be spent on writing the plan and finishing up the design, the rest of the days will be spent getting images and videos as well as music and putting it all together into a Multi Media poem by the 26th.
4th May-
Spend time doing Plan and Design, and at the end start looking for pictures.
8th May-
Spend time finding all the images and putting them in a folder on students on storage, if finished start doing a Movie Maker project by beginning by creating the background.
14th May-
Start putting everything into the Movie Maker project and organizing it as it suites my design plan
20th May-
Start synchronizing everything and adding the final touches such as transitions and special effects.
26Th May-
Finish Multi Media Poem
How are you going to do it, what tools or application programs are you going to use?

To accomplish this I will use some of my videos I have at home, as well as images(images will be found on google) and I will put the final thing together by using movie maker program in which we had experience creating the Troy Trailers.

Design

Storyboard No.1:
Text: Font is comic sans ms large enough to be read, 2 lines per slide or more depending on the segment of the poem. Text will be placed in front of everything else.

Background: This will be consisted of high resolution pictures found on google and a video at the end of me performing a snowboard trick.

Audio: I will have a song with no lyrics just a constant interesting beat, this song is yet to be determined but I do have a few songs in mind, such as: Strength of the World by Avenged Sevenfold, as well as Dead Celebrity Status- Messiah but the instrumental version.

Visuals: A high Resolution pictures of snowboard related themes, such as snowboard jumps and mountains of snow, popping in and out and as the poem is getting read.

Transitions: I will use the simplest transition, also known as fade. I will do this because I do not need any eye catching transitions since people are supposed to be focused on my poem and there will be enough distractions with the pictures and videos already.

Special Effects: No special effects until the end I will play my video in .75x speed, so I will use the slow special effect. This is to make the ending more dramatic.

Credits: Credits will include the logo of our school, and Multi Media poems 2008/2009 created by Nikola Tausan, and after that there will be links to the pictures.
Storyboard No. 2:
Text: Font is Chaucer font size 20, and there is one line per slide on 90% of the poem except for the ending of the first stanza, then there are 3. Text will be placed in front of everything else.

Background: Bakground will be plain black.

Audio: A song with a heavy instrumental that’s kind of laid back and relaxing, might even be classical.

Visuals: Images outlined with white popping in and out of slides, outlined with white because it will make them more eye catching for the audience

Transitions: Simple transitions such as fade.

Special Effects: No special effects.

Credits: Credits will include the logo of our school, and Multi Media poems 2008/2009 created by Nikola Tausan, and after that there will be links to the pictures.

I chose design number one because it suits my needs better then the second one. Its text is more coherent and I assume when all the elements of number 1 will be put together they will yield a better result than design number two.

Good vs. Bad Poem

An example of a good multimedia poem is Mimi's and an example of a bad one is Masha's. This is true because Mimi's is about 2 minutes long, which is a good lenght that keeps the audience interested, and her images are connected to her poem, and the songs sets a mood that is appropriate. Masha's is way too long going for 9 minutes, and mixing many different songs, as well as the transitions aren't done smoothly.

Good example of multimedia poetry

Multi Media Poetry

Multi Media Poetry is a mixture of video, images and sound. A good Multi Media poem integrates sound, images and video all in one, as well as to strive to achieve a unity of mood with each factor enhancing the other as to make it more effective then a poem and images presented separately.

Snowobard Poem

Snowboarding is my drug
Snowboarding is my quick fix to freedom
I’m a self proclaimed addict.
My body is scarred from overuse.
As I take hits from
180 tailgrabs,
360 melancholies,
540 indies,
They leave me feeling so high.

Well now,
Downwards the only way to go
While I’m shredding down mountains made from ice and snow
As the drug wears off
I feel on fire
Like I’m burning down
From all my desire
That I’ve never found.
The feeling leaves you so empty
But wanting for more,
Because snowboarding is like a drug
And it leaves you feeling so low.

As the day passes
And the sun goes down
I’ve had my highs and lows,
But nothing compares to the feeling
Whist I was shredding in the snow.
I must wait the night
To get my dosage of a Burton snowboard
Which leaves you high,
But brings you to an all time low.
